Milestone Achieved for Mental Health in Veterans

Mental Health is a fundamental aspect of our Promote Health and Wellness pillar. At CommunityForward, we strive to give back to U.S. Veterans for their service. To commemorate Veterans Day 2021, collaborated with TISTA Science and Technology Corporation (TISTA) to participate in the Marine Corps (MCM) ‘Turkey Trot’ 10K run. Through the Turkey Trot, we raised awareness about Mental Health amongst Veterans with the use of social media and fundraising packages given to our runners, as well as $45,000 in donations to help fund the Clinical Therapist position at one of our partner organizations called US Vets DC.

U.S. VETS, one of our CommunityForward Partners, is a non-profit organization located in Washington DC and is dedicated to end veteran homelessness in the United States. This organization believes that all veterans deserve every opportunity to live with dignity and independence. U.S. VETS serves veterans by providing services in housing, mental health and wellness, workforce development, and provides individualized support to veterans, as not all circumstances are the same. One major milestone of our partnership with U.S. VETS was the $45,000 donations raised throughout the year to help fund a Clinical Therapist position to address the mental health needs of homeless veterans supported by U.S. VETS, in DC.
